Kyoshi Laxmikant P. Sarang

Director / Chief Instructor

The Director of Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate Do Shin Kai - INDIA and Chief Advisor of Nihonsiki Karate and Sports Federation. Affiliated to Pan-America Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate Do Kyo Kai and Kokusai Kenyukan Goju Ryu Karate Kubudo Kai (Australia). Recognized By Okinawan Goju-Ryu Karate Do Kyo Kai Ei Shin Kai – USA.

Kyoshi Laxmikant P. Sarang is currently an 8th Degree Black belt from WUKO and Australia. Born on 18th July 1964, he began karate in 1979 and achieved his 1st Degree Black belt in 1986. He started teaching the Maharashtra police in 1983 and later joined the Mumbai police force Special Operation Squad in 1988.

  • 1997: Honored with the Police medal and participated in the Mauritius tournament.
  • 2002: Awarded "Maharshi of Karate" by Sports Authority of India (SAI).
  • 2006: Achieved 6th Degree Black belt in Sydney, Australia.
  • 2013-2014: Won 2 Gold Medals in Sri Lanka, 1 Gold and 1 Silver in Malaysia.
  • 2014: Honored as "A Proud of Jogeshwari Mumbai" by Usha Mangeshkar and achieved 7th Degree in Australia.
  • 2018: Ranked 8th Degree Black Belt by WUKO, KAI, and Australia. Recommended for President's medal.
  • Awarded "Best Sports Man" by former Sports Minister of India, Sunil Dutt.

Sensei Rakesh Yeshwant Gadre

As a curious student, Sensei Rakesh Gadre began his journey in 1989. With strong will, dedication, passion, and in-built intelligence, he has made extraordinary progress, achieving remarkable success at national and international levels.

Throughout his 30-33 years of teaching at Nihonsiki Karate & Sports Federation, thousands of students have learned karate as well as life skills. He was conferred the title of ‘Shihan 6th Degree Karate Black Belt’ by the Karate Association of India in 2016. Despite living in the United States, his love and commitment constantly draw him back to Indian Karate Camps.

Nihonsiki Karate & Sports Federation honored Sensei Rakesh with the ‘Dronacharya Award’ and the title of ‘Kyoshi 7th Degree Karate Black Belt’ for his valuable services.

Since childhood, he dreamt of becoming a Martial Artist like his childhood hero Bruce Lee. His Martial Art journey began in 1986 under Kyoshi Laxmikant P. Sarang. With an absolute passion to be the best, he remarkably secured his 1st Dan Karate Black Belt in 1993.

In this journey towards setting new standards of success, he has bagged several awards & trophies. He has shown true sportsman spirit and played a fair game throughout his entire sporting career. His dedication, determination, and attitude towards life are inspiring to players and students alike.

Sensei Sharad has sown the seeds of humanity among his students. His honesty, integrity, and relentless efforts make him a true teacher and an incredible asset in the growth and development of NKSF.

Sensei Kiran Kundapur

Sensei Kiran Kundapur is a born artist and lifelong learner devoted to the art of Karate. His initial journey began as a wooden handicraft artist, founding Kiran Wood Art & Kiran Kala Kendra. However, he found the treasure of Karate at the age of 37.

Even at the age of 50, he won Gold in the Kata category at the state level championship in Hubli in 2008. In 2014 at the International Karate Championship in Malaysia, he won Silver in Kumite. He has been conferred the title of "South Indian Cobra."

Now 78, he holds the title of Shihan 7th Degree Karate Black Belt. Sensei Kiran has served in honorable positions in the JC organization and Hangluru Lion’s Club. Nihonsiki Karate & Sports Federation honored him with the ‘Dronacharya Award’ for his invaluable guidance.

Sensei Rakesh Ramesh Tivrekar

Sensei Rakesh Ramesh Tivrekar

Born on 3rd July 1977, Sensei Rakesh Tivrekar is a man of exceptional talent and skill. He got his first major achievement in the 1996 2nd Asia Pacific Championship where he won a hard-fought silver. From then on, he scaled new heights every day.

In 1999 & 2000 he bagged Bronze and Silver in the Mayors Cup, Gold in the All India Goju Kai Karate-Do Championship, Gold & Silver in the 2002 Funakoshi Cup, 2008 Funakoshi Cup Grand Championship, Silver in 2013 Indo-Shri Lanka Karate Championship, and 2014 Gold & Silver in the Indo-Malaysia Karate Championship.

For the past 27 years, he has been opening the doors of his knowledge to students. Honored with the title of ‘Shihan 7th Degree Karate Black Belt’ by the NKSF, he has earned the position of ‘Chief of Maharashtra & Technical Director’. NKSF honored him with the ‘Dronacharya Award’ for his devoted services.

Sensei Prakash Shrawan Suryawanshi

Sensei Prakash Shrawan Suryawanshi

Born on 30th October 1956, Sensei Prakash Suryawanshi is a man with immense knowledge. Since childhood, he dreamt of becoming a Martial Artist like his hero Bruce Lee. In 1983, his dream became a reality when he began learning Karate.

Trained with intense dedication, even today at age 67 he demonstrates Tamashiwari—the art of breaking. He was honored by the CBI in 1994 for his thrilling Tamashiwari performance, and completed honorable service for the CBI helping arrest criminals in 1996 for which he earned special recognition.

For the past 40 years, he has been building his students. He was honored with the ‘Shihan 6th Degree Karate Black Belt’ in 2024 by Nihonsiki Karate & Sports Federation. Recognizing his lifelong dedication, the NKSF awarded Sensei Prakash with the ‘Khel Ratna Award’.
